My maternity leave officially ends today. Tomorrow, I'm reporting back to work tomorrow for a couple of days and then I have two more weeks off for Christmas and New Year break. Miles sure timed his birth just right for being nearly three weeks early so he can get as much time with mama as possible. Luckily, I'm allow to bring baby Miles with me to work for most of January until school goes into session again. I don't have child care in place yet but will do soon after we move to our new home in Maplewood, NJ in less than a month.
It still feels so surreal that this is actually happening. It took nearly a year for the sale of our apartment to go through. But I really believe it's all meant to be. We fell in love with this little house a year ago but wasn't able to buy it until we sell our apartment in Queens. To make the long story short, it is still available and we are going t finally make it ours.
Meantime, we are enjoying our last Christmas in our cozy 1 bedroom apartment where we called home for the past 6 years. We have had so many wonderful memory here in our first home. We had two beautiful boys, two book publishing deals and 1 master degree and a whole lot of joy, luck and fun. We are going to miss this.
We got much to do right after Christmas to pack and get ready for two closings, a big move, a new school and a new daycare. I am slightly overwhelm but am so looking forward to our new life with more trees and grass and space for our family. I am looking forward to Tai having his own acorn tree, unlimited supplies of acorns, a nice size big back yard and maybe even his own vegetable garden.
Looking forward to it all.

Making Mile's first critter of many from mama.
